Thank you for letting us know about this exciting initiative.
As you probably know we have two e-primer series - one on Free/Open Source
Software (http://www.iosn.net/foss-primers) and another on the Information
Economy, Society and Polity (http://www.apdip.net/publications/iespprimers).
As Shahid mentioned, the English version of all our e-primers in both series
are available in Wikibooks
(http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Category:APDIP_Books). Wikibooks is our chosen
platform because it facilitates collaboration. Every day, volunteers are
improving Wikibooks, making many changes, writing, updating, and correcting
books. Wikibooks maintains quality control and has policies and guidelines
that users need to follow. Wikibooks are also available for all to freely
distribute and reproduce as covered by the GNU Free Documentation License.
You can find out more at http://www.apdip.net/news/wikibooks
You may be interested in choosing the Chinese Wikibooks at
http://zh.wikibooks.org as the platform for making the FOSS e-Primers
available in Chinese, especially since our programme is in the process of
discussing with Vietnamese, Portuguese and Mongolian Wikibooks in
transferring the respective versions of the e-primers to Wikibooks.
For your information, all of APDIP's knowledge products including
publications and videos are available online at
http://www.apdip.net/elibrary.
A very popular resource being used and translated into different languages
by FOSS advocates is "The Codebreakers". The Codebreakers is a television
documentary first shown on BBC World middle of last year. It looks at the
potential of FOSS to bridge the digital divide and includes stories and
interviews from around the world where FOSS is making an impact. It is now
available under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 license. Find out more
