IOSN是联合国开发计划署的一个下属机构，旨在亚太地区推广开源自由软件、开放标准和开放内容。IOSN组织编写了一系列的自由开源软件的入门读物。这套读物以Creative Commons执照发布；也用GNU/FDL加入了wikibooks.org。
这套读物是推广开源和自由软件的优秀资料，对社会应用、教育和政策支持有重要意义。
我们现在征求志愿者来把制作这套资料的中文版，共同推进自由开源软件在中文世界的应用和发展。
